"Here It Goes Over again" is a song by American rock band OK Get, the fifth single released from their 2nd studio album, Oh No (2005). Information technology was the band's just unmarried to chart on the US Billboard Hot 100 until "I Won't Let Yous Downward" in November 2014 and peaked at number 36 on the UK Singles Nautical chart, giving the band their second UK summit-40 hit. The music video, featuring the ring dancing on treadmills, became a staple on YouTube, at ane time being one of their most watched videos with over 53 million views.

The single's B-side, "The Lovecats", is a cover of the song past the Cure and was previously included on the band's Practise What Yous Desire EP and the single "A Million Means". An alternate version was nicknamed "UK Surf".

Composition and recording [edit]

Written by Damian Kulash Jr., the 3-minute "Hither Information technology Goes Again" is set in mutual fourth dimension at a "Moderately fast stone" tempo of 144 beats per infinitesimal. It is composed in the key of C major, with the vocal range spanning from C4 to Afour.[1] Kulash also sang and played the guitar in the original mix, which was produced by Tore Johansson with co-production done past Eric Drew Feldman, Howard Willing and Ken Sluiter. Andy Duncan was another guitarist on the track. Other instruments on the recording include drums performed past Dan Konopka and bass past Tim Nordwind. Recorded at Gula Studion in Malmö, Sweden, it was mixed at The Village Recorder in Los Angeles by Dave Sardy, and finally mastered by Robert Vosgien at Capitol Mastering, too in Los Angeles.[2]

Commercial performance [edit]

On the American Billboard Hot 100 chart, issue dated September xvi, 2006, "Here It Goes Over again" debuted at number 87,[3] and by the next week it rose to its superlative into the tiptop forty at 38.[4] The rails lasted a total of 20 weeks.[v] Additionally, it reached into the height 40 onto the Pop 100 at number 34,[6] as well as number 17 on the Adult Pinnacle 40[7] and Alternative Songs charts.[8] "Here It Goes Over again" was also a Top forty hit in other countries. On the Uk Singles Chart, it debuted at number 36,[ix] while on the Official New Zealand Music Chart its peak position was 28.[ten] In Australia, the song began at number 67 on the ARIA top 100 singles nautical chart, and rose to 63 the next week and also topped the Hitseekers nautical chart, which surveys tracks by bands that have not reached into the top 50 of the main chart.[11]

Music video [edit]

The music video of the song is an elaborate performance of the band dancing on eight treadmills, arranged in two rows of four and in alternating contrary directions, in a unmarried continuous have. Choreographed and co-directed by the band and atomic number 82 singer Damian Kulash'south sister Trish Sie, it took a total of seventeen attempts to complete the video.[12] As in the band's video for "A 1000000 Means", Tim Nordwind lip-syncs the atomic number 82 vocals instead of Damian Kulash, following the format from the trip the light fantastic choreographed for the song "C-C-C-Cinnamon Lips", which Tim sings. In "The Must List" on the Baronial 18, 2006, issue of Entertainment Weekly, the video was ranked number nine: "The votes have been tallied, and this year's honour for Best Use of Treadmills in an Alt-Pop Music Video goes to... http://okgo.net/news.aspx".[thirteen] In July 2011, the music video was named one of "The 30 All-Time Best Music Videos" by Time Magazine.[14]

UK Surf Mix [edit]

During the summertime of 2006, the ring recorded a slower version of "Here It Goes Again" "in their attic".[15] This version, dubbed "United kingdom of great britain and northern ireland Surf" or the "Britain Surf Mix", was released on iTunes in the Uk the same twenty-four hours as the single. Later being featured in the January 2007 Grey's Beefcake episode "Peachy Expectations", it was released in the U.s.a. through iTunes on February 1, 2007, as a digital download.

Co-ordinate to MTV Games'southward Paul McGooyer, the video game Rock Ring helped to spur further interest in the band.[24] The E3 2016 trailer for Lego Dimensions features the song.[25] Parodies of the video accept appeared on The Simpsons, The Fairly OddParents, Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends, and Kuu Kuu Harajuku (created past Gwen Stefani).[26]
